I enjoy being outside, even if it’s just walking in and out of malls, I have the time for that. However, winter doesn’t necessarily accommodate many outdoor activities because of the cold that accompanies it with habitual rain.

Recently I was at the Aquarium at the Boardwalk in Missouri and I did not think I would feel so fulfilled visiting an aquarium.

Entry

All information on charges is on their website. I discovered that the later you go during the day the cheaper it is. You can also enjoy from the different discounts; resident discounts, military discounts etc.

Spoiler alert: the photos taken at the beginning of the tour will be sold to you at the end for 20$ (19.99) which I think is a rip off because they don’t tell you this when they offer to take it- or maybe we should have asked at the beginning why they took it. I think I thought it was part of the package which would have been really good.

What to expect

Once inside, the tour is pretty much self oriented. There are small aquariums to begin with and an information tab beside it with details of the fish.

I won’t spoil it for you but there are several rooms with different things to see and my favourite one was the gloom room with jelly fish. It had really fancy and appealing lighting that would change colour from time to time with the jelly fish in glass like poles.

Towards the end, I got a chance to pet the fish which was really fun.

Good news is the aquarium is open to all people of all ages.

Gift shop

In case you are interested in buying souvenirs, there’s a gift shop on your way out. There is variety to choose from ranging from cups, anklets, fridge magnets, it’s like a whole candy store – actually there’s candy too.
