Karura Forest is located in Nairobi about 20 minutes from the city center. Depending on your means of transport, you can either drive there, use an ubber or even public means like I did.
Once at the entrance, you’d pay depending with the type of activity you want to partake. You can find the rates at Friends of Karura Forest website.
It would be better during your visit if you have a water bottle as plastic bottle, like the ones bought with water inside are not allowed into the Forest.
Other activities you can do include; riding bicycles, playing lawn tennis, picnics among others.
I have been to Karura Forest several times but on all those times I’ve just hiked to the waterfall. The 15km hike was something else. I saw animals though I can’t remember the name but they look like gazelles. There are beautiful tall trees and the breath of fresh air is everything.
If you haven’t tried the hike, please give it some consideration not just the 15km one, there’s 10km and also 5km. You don’t need a guide as all the paths are marked.
Don’t miss out on the vlog too 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejWNFtnLCwE
